Microsoft has a history of taking its time to release its software, as evidenced by Windows Vista, Windows Mobile and Internet Explorer. That being said, Microsoft must certainly be feeling the heat from the competition of Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android platform as CEO Steve Ballmer has said that the company will gear up to get Windows Mobile products and updates to the market sooner. The net update for Windows Mobile, which is Windows Mobile 6.5, is already slated to be in the market by the end of 2009, and Windows Mobile 7 should be available around 2010.
