  • Philips will soon launch two new mobile phones, the C600 and the W186.

The first one, Philips C600, is a dual-mode handset that works on tri-band GSM networks (900/1800/1900 MHz), as well as on CDMA 800 MHz.

Unfortunately, the rest of its features are not that interesting, including a 2.4 inch QVGA touchscreen display, MP3 player, 1.3MP camera with video recording, only 2.5MB of internal memory and MicroSD card support, up to 2GB.

  • I know that Philips handsets ain’t widely used in the Western hemisphere, but where available, they are liked by those looking for a simple phones with long battery times.

With 1 month+ of stand-by and talk times of 8hrs,  Xenium line of phones has stood out on this issue among the peers, for several years now.

Well, there’s another extremely durable handset coming out soon – Philips Xenium X320.

In addition to a great battery life, Philips Xenium also comes with FM Radio and built-in FM telescopic antenna for it, so you don’t have to plug in your headset every time you you want to listen to radio.

    philips-xenium-x320

The specs of Philips Xenium X320 include:

    • Tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900, GPRS/EDGE connectivity
    • 2.2″ QVGA TFT Display
    • Camera 2 MP
    • FM radio with RDS
    • Built-in telescopic antenna for FM-radio
    • Bluetooth 2.0

  • The Philips Xenium family of phones has a new member, a candybar that will be launched pretty soon under the name of Philips X550.

Obviously, one of the new handset’s strongest points is its battery, which should last up to one month in stand-by.

Unfortunately, like most of the other Xenium phones, Philips X550 doesn’t have 3G connectivity, relying only on GPRS and EDGE for data transfers – that’s why it will probably be sold only in China and Eastern Europe.

Anyway, the handset looks really nice (images found via Mobile-review):
