Pilotfish Ondo Music Editing Phone

Pilotfish Ondo Music Editing Phone

Want to try mixing some music whilst on the go? Well, if this concept hybrid cell phone by Pilotfish ever becomes a reality, we just might be able to see such a situation. As per the concept, the device will come ready with a tiny mixing panel, a trio of recording sticks, internal memory and bendable center which allows users to insert their own pitch blends at selected areas of a track, at the same time acting as a rather weird stress ball. The three OLED-infused sticks function as a main phone panel when installed, or it can be clipped onto instruments for recording purposes when moved.

Nokia Point And Find Beta Service

Just how advanced can cell phones get? What if we could just grab a picture of something with your cell phone, and then let it search (based on the picture) for the relevant information? Well, that’s what the folks over at Nokia are thinking. A beta version of what Nokia calls “Point & Find” has been released to folks in the UK and the US, and will also be expanded to other services and countries in due time. Nokia Point & Find general manager, Philipp Schloter said:

“With Nokia Point & Find, businesses are able to target engaging experiences and calls-to-action to consumers. We believe that this first Nokia Point & Find-based service for movies will add something special to the cinema experience. Simply by pointing their camera phone at a poster for a new movie, people can watch the trailer, read reviews, and find the closest cinema where it is playing.”

This certainly would be a feature we would welcome in future phones, don’t you think?

Well, the cellphone concept design from Ryan Ma seems to point towards something interesting, which is probably due to the cell phone’s transparent LCD. At a glance, people might think that you’re buying some rare cell phone that they have only read about.

Virgin Mobile To Offer Touch Handsets

Virgin Mobile USA CEO, Dan Schulman, has said that the company plans to offer a touch-based cell phone sometime in the future. While there wasn’t any indication of which phone would be offered, he did mention that the company would begin shifting the handsets that it is offering towards smarter phones, which is in response to the growing demand for more capable devices.

  • Nokia 5330 XpressMusic, the new slider officially announced last week, will apparently be released by T-Mobile – probably in both the US and Europe.

The phone was recently spotted in a black/blue color version (unseen until now), with T-Mobile’s logo on it.

According to Cell Phone Signal, this version should be introduced in the US in June or July.

T-Mo USA already has two XpressMusic handsets (5310 and 5610), and the new 5330 should be a perfect replacement for them.

Nokia said the 5330 would have a retail price of 160 Euros ($210), so let’s hope that, with a contract agreement, the slider will be offered by T-Mobile for under $100.

The features of 5330 (plus a hands-on video) can be seen here.

  • Sony Ericsson C905 Massive Returns?

    Sony Ericsson C905 Massive Returns?

Sony Ericsson’s C905 is certainly a desirable cell phone on paper, but it seems that many people are finding out otherwise after they’ve purchased the device, as evidenced by the return rate of the device. Reports are filtering that return rates of up to 30% have been reported in some areas. Problems that plague the C905 camera phone include software freezes, and speaker faults. Apparently many operators even went as far as to seek considerable compensation from Sony Ericsson due to customer returns. All in all, Sony Ericsson had better pay attention to the quality of the software and hardware of the upcoming W995 and Idou, if not it runs the risk of further damaging its brand name.

  • Cell Phone Taking Over Land Lines?

Cell Phone Taking Over Land Lines?

A study by TNS Technology indicates that 74% of all messages globally are sent through a mobile device. This is a significant increase from the initial 59% from a year ago. It seems that more and more folks are opting to get a mobile phone instead of a land line. Will cell phones replace land lines in the future? It certainly looks that way, albeit a little further along the road.
