The FCC has recently approved a new Nokia phone that’s almost surely going to be released by AT&T in the US.
We’re talking about the Nokia 6750 Mural, which comes as a clamshell that works on the 850/1900 UMTS bands.
Somewhat similar to the Nokia 6650 that AT&T launched in November 2008, the new 6750 comes with two displays, a glossy finish and external music-dedicated keys. It also has a 2MP camera with flash, Bluetooth and MicroSD card support, up to 8GB.
The phone’s Users Manual confirms that AT&T will carry the Nokia 6650, since it includes stuff like MEdia Net and Video Share.
It’s not clear yet if the 6650 runs on Symbian S40, or on Symbian S60. I guess we’ll have to wait for its official release in order to find out.

The Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot is not the newest SE phone in town, but it’s still a 2009 handset – it was announced back in January, at the same time with the W508 Walkman clamshell.
The North American version of C510, namely the Sony Ericsson C510a, has just appeared on SE Canada’s official website. And since it’s a GSM/HSDPA phone, it’s very likely that it will be launched by Rogers – Canada’s only GSM carrier (well, Fido’s a GSM operator too, but it belongs to Rogers anyway).
Of course, the exact release date of the C510a is not known, but Canadian mobile users will probably be able to buy it in the next few months, maybe at about the same time with the Android-powered HTC Dream and HTC Magic.

In case you don’t know yet, the specs and features of Sony Ericsson C510 / C510a include:
Sony Ericsson C510 retails for about €200 ($272) in Europe, so the Canadian C510a shouldn’t be too expensive.

Sony Ericsson has announced its latest fashion phone and will have professional tennis payer Maria Sharapova as its ambassador for the phone. The T707 is a clamshell phone that lights up when calls or messages are received, those colors can also be customized to represent specific callers. One of the more interesting features of the phone is the ability to silence calls or the alarm by just waving their hand over the phone, which will be detected thanks to proximity sensors. Themes of the phone can automatically change depending on the time of the day. The T707a will have quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSDPA support. Aside from that, it will also have a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, video capture, stereo Bluetooth, FM radio and GPS. You can expect this phone to be available in Q2 of 2009.

LG has just introduced a new clamshell phone in South Korea – the LG SV800 / KH8000 / LH8000.
Also known as LG Lollipop, the handset is obviously targeted at young mobile users, and it comes in three color versions: Cutie Pink, Aqua Blue and “Boyish Titanium”.
On the outside, LG Lollipop has 220 tiny LEDs that can display various patterns – hearts, animals, cars and so on.
The phone looks good, although its design has nothing that we haven’t seen before:

Here are the handset’s main specs:
LG Lollipop should be available in South Korea starting this month, via all major carriers (SK Telecom, KTF and LG Telecom). No details about its release in other markets.

Looking for an affordable music-oriented phone? Well, if you’re an AT&T subscriber, you might want to check out the Motorola EM330 that the carrier is offering for free (with a 2-year contract and after a $50 rebate). This tri-band GSM/EDGE clamshell phone has an FM radio that supports Motorola’s SONGID system, which helps you identify the song you’re listening to and easily purchase it from the AT&T Music Store. Being music oriented, the EM330 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, supports Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) and a microSD card expansion.

Officially announced at the beginning of January 2009, Sony Ericsson W508 is not yet available for purchase. But it should be starting Q2 2009, both in Europe and in the Americas (as W508a).
Now we’re hearing there’s a Sony Ericsson W518a in the making, which looks similar to the W508 and it also has the same specs.
The novelty is the fact that the W518a also has A-GPS – a feature not present in the W508.
There’s no image with the W518a yet, but since it’s like a W508, the new clamshell should look like this:
Needless to say, Sony Ericsson W518a is targeted for America, although there’s no info on when it will be launched. There might be a W518 version too, for Europe and Asia – but that’s obviously not confirmed.
We’ll have more on this as soon as new details emerge.

If this newly-leaked Sprint roadmap is legit, the second largest North American CDMA carrier will have at least 10 new handsets to offer in the upcoming months.
First of all – as expected – it’s said the Palm Pre will be introduced in the second quarter of 2009, thus in April, May or June.
Unsurprisingly, the Pre is targeted at “high-end consumers and business users who need to stay connected to their office and who will benefit from fast EV-DO rev. A data speeds and a full functional device.”

Next, Q2 2009 should also bring the following devices to Sprint:

In the third quarter of 2009, Sprint should release the following handsets:
There’s also the HTC Rhodium on Sprint’s roadmap. This is actually the HTC Touch Pro2 with EV-DO rev. A and HSDPA connectivity. It should be out in Q4 2009. What’s weird is that the Rhodium appears as running on “Windows 7.X”, although Windows Mobile 7 will only be launched in 2010.

Anyway, since for the moment we can’t confirm that all the above-mentioned devices will be indeed launched by Sprint, we can only wait for more official details to come up.

Only few days after we saw the Philips Xenium X530, we now have info about another new Philips clamshell: the Xenium X700.
Like most (if not all) Philips handsets, the X700 does not have 3G connectivity, so your data transfers will have to rely only on GPRS and EDGE.
However, there’s one big advantage that the phone offers - and that’s obviously the powerful battery, which can last up to 720 hours in stand-by (1 month), or up to 450 minutes in talk-time mode.
Here’s what the handset looks like:

The main specs and features of Xenium X700 include:
Philips Xenium X700 should be soon available in China and select European countries (like Russia, Romania and Turkey). Its retail price is said to be of around €170 ($220).

Looking for a new clamshell phone? Well, you might want to consider the Nokia Intrigue 7205. This EV-DO Rev. 0 device should be available on Verizon sometime soon. It doesn’t have features to rival an iPhone or HTC Touch Pro, but its features still are fairly useful, with features such as a 2-megapixel camera, microSD card expansion, stereo Bluetooth, and QVGA internal display. Fans of flowery designs will appreciate the flower-shaped 4-way keypad in the pink version of the device.

During a press event recently held by Sony Ericsson in China, the Swedish-Japanese company has unveiled a new phone called Sony Ericsson T707 Elle.
A clear picture of it is not yet available, but we know the T707 is a clamshell; and, since it’s from the T-series, it’s not a Walkman and neither a Cyber-shot handset.
So what we have here is just a mid-end feature-phone.
It’s said that the T707 will be released by Sony Ericsson in at least five color versions, sometime later this spring.

The phone’s specs include:
The price of Sony Ericsson T707 was not unveiled.
