We knew that the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G was going to be announced this month and, well, the smartphone is now finally official.
Sadly, T-Mobile USA will only sell its second Android handset starting early August. However, the carrier’s current customers will be able to pre-order it as of July 8 and thus receive it sometime later that month. The smartphone’s price is of $199.99 with a contract agreement for two years.
As expected, the MyTouch 3G will be offered in three color versions: white, black and merlot.

Unlike its predecessor (T-Mobile G1), MyTouch 3G doesn’t have a hardware keyboard, so it’s slightly thinner.
The new smartphone obviously features stuff like Google Search by voice, Google Maps with Street View, YouTube and Picasa access and so on. It is highly customizable (including apps like Sherpa) and it comes with a 4GB card in the box.
Other than that, the specs of MyTouch 3G are similar to the ones of HTC Magic: 3.2 inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels, GPS, Wi-Fi and a 3.2MP camera with autofocus and video recording.
The official website of T-Mobile’s MyTouch 3G can be accessed here.

Today, Sprint has unveiled two new messaging phones that will be launched later this spring: the Sanyo SCP-2700 and a dark red version of the already-available LG Lotus.
The first handset, Sanyo SCP-2700, is a candybar presented by the US carrier as being “stylish and easy-to-use”. It obviously has a full QWERTY keyboard, plus Sprint-exclusive stuff like Sprint Navigator, Sprint Mobile Email Work and Sprint Family Locator.
The phone will be available starting May 10, in two color versions: blue and pink.

The specs of Sanyo SCP-2700 include:
So how much will this SCP-2700 cost? Only $29.99 – obviously with a two-year contract agreement and after the usual $50 mail-in rebate.
Available until now in purple and black, LG Lotus will be released in a third color version: the above-mentioned dark red one.

Sprint didn’t say when the new Lotus will hit the shelves, but it should happen pretty soon.

First seen way back in November 2008, AT&T’s Nokia E71x is now finally official – although not yet available for purchase.
The S60 Eseries smartphone is featured on the North American carrier’s website as “coming soon”, and AT&T says you will be able to buy it in a few weeks. After a mail-in rebate and with the signing of a 2-yr contract agreement, Nokia E71x will cost only $99 (cheaper than Verizon’s Nokia 7205 Intrigue).
Save for the fact that the E71x comes in a black case, there aren’t too many differences between it and the E71 that can already be purchased via the Nokia USA website.
Of course, there’s the AT&T branding, AT&T firmware (which includes AT&T Navigator) and the subsidized price ($99 vs. the $359 no-contract price).
All in all, there will probably be many happy AT&T customers after the Nokia E71x becomes available.

Already available in the US, Motorola Hint QA30 will soon be introduced in Canada as well, via Bell Mobility.
Reportedly, the second largest Canadian carrier will start selling the Hint QA30 on April 9, for as low as $129.95 (with a three year contract agreement). Sans contract, the handset should be available for $329.95.
In case you don’t know yet, Hint QA30 is Motorola’s first slider to come with a full QWERTY keypad.
Other than that, the phone features stuff like a QVGA display, GPS, Email, Web browser, Bluetooth, a 2MP camera and memory expansion slot (up to 8GB).

All in all, if you text a lot while on the go and don’t mind having a square-ish handset in your pocket, Motorola Hint QA30 may be a good choice for you.

T-Mobile webConnect USB Laptop Stick – this is the name of T-Mo USA’s first 3G USB laptop stick, launched today by the fourth largest North American carrier.
Manufactured by Huawei, the new laptop stick comes with MicroSDHC card support (8GB) and it allows users to easily connect their laptops to T-Mobile’s 3G network (where available), as well as to more than 10,000 Wi-Fi hotspots.
The webConnect USB laptop stick features tri-band 3G connectivity and GPRS/EDGE, so it’s not only compatible with T-Mobile’s nationwide network, but also with networks from abroad.

The webConnect USB Laptop Stick can be bought both online and via T-Mobile’s retail stores. You can get it for $49.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement, or for $249.99 without a contract.

Today, O2 has announced new 24 month iPhone 3G tariffs for the UK, thus confirming those rumors which appeared last week.
Starting April 3, O2 UK’s customers will be able to get an 8GB iPhone 3G for free if they choose a new 2-yr contract agreement with a data plan of at least £34.26 per month.
The 16GB iPhone 3G will (obviously) also be offered for free, if you’re willing to pay £44.05 per month for two years.
Sadly, the 18 month iPhone 3G tariffs will not be changed by O2.

Almost certainly, the cheaper tariffs are being introduced because Apple is getting ready to launch a new iPhone this year. Of course, iPhone OS 3.0 kind of makes the old handset a new one, but let’s hope there will be some fresh hardware coming from Cupertino in addition to the fresh software.
We might even see more than just one new Apple smartphone – perhaps that iPhone Nano will finally be announced, together with a handset that can be a worthy successor to the iPhone 3G.

We knew Nokia E71 / E71x was coming to AT&T sometime this spring, and now it looks like it’s finally happening.
According to BGR, AT&T already has units of the Eseries handset in its retail locations, and it will start selling them on March 24.
With a contract agreement for 2 years, it’s said the Nokia E71x will cost you $199 – just like an 8GB iPhone 3G.
As previously reported, the 10-mm thick QWERTY smartphone will be launched by AT&T in a good-looking black version.

We’re not sure why AT&T delayed the launch of E71x so much (its European edition is available since the summer of 2008), but it’s better late than never, right?

Rumors about the arrival of Sony Ericsson C905 in the US have been around since November 2008, and now it’s all confirmed.
Reuters reports that Sony Ericsson will put a serious effort to promote its Cyber-shot camera phones in the US, starting the second quarter of 2009.
In particular, SE will introduce the 8 Megapixel C905 slider to US customers.
Jon Mulder, Sony Ericsson’s head of product marketing for North America, is confident that the C905 can attract a considerable number of buyers: “We know that this device is going to be relevant to consumers in the second half.”

The Cyber-shot phone should be sold for $199 to $249 if a North American carrier decides to offer it with a 2-yr contract agreement. And that carrier is likely to be AT&T – since we saw a C905a with AT&T firmware some time ago.
The C905 will be the second 8MP camera phone launched in the US, after T-Mobile’s Samsung Memoir, which is currently sold for $249 (with a contract agreement for two years).

Sprint has just announced that a revamped version of its pretty old Motorola i580 iDEN rugged phone is now available.
The new handset comes in a “highly visible yellow” color, and it also brings a more powerful battery: a 1130 mAh one, which can provide a talk-time of up to 200 minutes.
Other than that, we’re talking about the same old phone. In consequence, you should know the i580 is certified to Military Standard 810 F for shock, vibration, dust, solar radiation, temperature extremes, low pressure, blowing rain, salt fog and humidity.

The specs of Motorola i580 include:
The yellow Motorola i580 can be bought from Sprint right away, for $119 with a 2-yr contract agreement.

Nokia 5330 XpressMusic, the new slider officially announced last week, will apparently be released by T-Mobile – probably in both the US and Europe.
The phone was recently spotted in a black/blue color version (unseen until now), with T-Mobile’s logo on it.
According to Cell Phone Signal, this version should be introduced in the US in June or July.
T-Mo USA already has two XpressMusic handsets (5310 and 5610), and the new 5330 should be a perfect replacement for them.
Nokia said the 5330 would have a retail price of 160 Euros ($210), so let’s hope that, with a contract agreement, the slider will be offered by T-Mobile for under $100.
The features of 5330 (plus a hands-on video) can be seen here.
