There’s still nothing official about the third-generation Apple iPhone, but more and more rumors are starting to appear.
The latest rumor comes from China, providing an insight on what the new iPhone might bring, hardware-wise.
According to this thread from the WeiPhone forum, the next iPhone (model number MB717LL) will rely on a 600MHz processor and 256MB of RAM.
Moreover, the new smartphone should also feature: FM radio, digital compass, 32GB of internal memory and a 3.2MP autofocus camera (it’s not the first time we hear about the 3.2MP camera). And, needless to say, the device will run on iPhone 3.0 OS.
Sadly, it looks like there will be no major changes when it comes to the external case, the display and the battery. Not that there’s something wrong with iPhone 3G’s case, screen and battery, but I think that a fresh design and a display with a higher resolution would be more than welcome. After all, most high-end touchscreen phones now have 480 x 800 pixels screens.

Of course, none of the above specs are confirmed. Let’s hope there’ll actually be much more coming from Apple – the Cupertino company will probably announce the new iPhone during WWDC 2009 (June 8 – 12), at about the same time with the Palm Pre and Microsoft’s new, mysterious Zune.

We often complain of the number of fake/clone devices that are shipped out from China, so it’s only fair that we should applaud them for some originality – of sorts. Considering that there is no such thing as a Vertu Lamborghini phone, you’ll have to admit that this phone is rather “original”. Of course, it’s not a real Vertu, and most certainly doesn’t have any backing for Lamborghini, but if you’re trying to fake looking classy, you could always give this a try, albeit being a (very) long shot. The device purportedly sports (no pun intended):
2.6-inch QVGA display, possibly a touchscreen
Media player
FM radio
Camera
Bluetooth

Orange is gearing up to launch a new and rather affordable touchscreen phone, dubbed the Orange Vegas. This dual-band GSM/GPRS phone features a 2.4-inch TFT touchscreen display, and will most likely sport a QVGA resolution. If you’re on a Pay as You Go plan with Orange, the device will only set you back €69 ($92), which is a very low price for a full touchscreen device. Features of the Orange Vegas include:
Bluetooth
MP3 player
FM radio
1.3MP camera
64MB of internal memory
1GB MicroSD card
Talk time: up to 3 hours
Stand by time: up to 7 days
84 grams

The handset is a dual band GSM/GPRS one that features a 2.4 inch TFT touchscreen display, probably with a QVGA resolution.
The price of Orange Vegas (on Pay as You Go) is said to be of only €69 (92 USD), which would make it one of the cheapest full-touch phones ever.
This is what the device looks like:

The rest of its specs include:
Orange Vegas is already featured on Orange UK’s website, in black and pink – although it’s not yet available for purchase. Most probably, the carrier will sell the phone in many of its European markets.

The T707 is a clamshell phone that lights up when calls or messages are received, those colors can also be customized to represent specific callers. One of the more interesting features of the phone is the ability to silence calls or the alarm by just waving their hand over the phone, which will be detected thanks to proximity sensors. A new Samsung Betty Boop mobile phone has appeared online, and considering that Samsung has previously released a Samsung Tobi, which was targeted at kids, this phone shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. This slider handset is a limited-edition model, and has the signature and theme of the famous cartoon character. The Samsung Betty Boop will support GSM/GPRS/EDGE, VGA camera, MMS, MP3 music playback, FM radio and also a microSD memory card expansion. The phone will be going for €129, though you’ll be able to pick it up from Bouygues Telecom for €1 if you commit yourself to a 2-year contract.

I am not sure if it’s a good thing or bad, but Motorola is just not able to let go of it’s years old successful handset models, churning out cosmetic update, after update, after update.
Today it’s time for Motorola Ming A1200, which was wildly successful in China few years ago.
And it comes in the form of Motorola A1210 Linux based handset.
It is still the same tri-band 2.5G GSM/EDGE phone with no support for 3G. But the new MotoMing will come with a bigger 2.8” 240×400px touchscreen display and 3.1 megapixel camera.

Other Motorola A1210 specs include TI OMAP850 CPU, 64MB of built-in memory, microSD memory card slot, FM Radio, Bluetooth, USB. It weights 125g and is 102 x 53.8 x 20.5mm in size.
Motorola A1210 is headed for China and nowhere else for now.

Looking for an affordable music-oriented phone? Well, if you’re an AT&T subscriber, you might want to check out the Motorola EM330 that the carrier is offering for free (with a 2-year contract and after a $50 rebate). This tri-band GSM/EDGE clamshell phone has an FM radio that supports Motorola’s SONGID system, which helps you identify the song you’re listening to and easily purchase it from the AT&T Music Store. Being music oriented, the EM330 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, supports Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) and a microSD card expansion.

Samsung has announced a rugged hand phone for the adventurer in you. The B2100 Xplorer (it has a loud speakerphone) has been IP57 certified for ingress protection against water (up to 1 meter for 30 minutes), dust, hot and cold temperatures, even salt fog. In addition to being a quad-band GSM/EDGE candybar device, it has impressive features that include noise cancellation, FM Radio, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD card support and even a flashlight. MetroPCS might want to pay closer attention to its competitor, Cricket. Aside from having fairly attractive rates, Cricket is now offering the Nokia 3606. Sure, it’s not a technological wonder (in this day and time), but it does add a stylish phone to Cricket’s lineup, which could prove crucial. The Nokia 3606 sports a 1.3-megapixel camera with LED flash, stereo Bluetooth, FM radio, microSDHC support and external multimedia keys. It’s not all that cheap at $179.99, but when you factor in Cricket’s low-cost unlimited plans, it’s an interesting deal.
