Touch Pro2 May Come to T-Mobile USA

We are loving what the rumor mill has been cranking out lately. The latest biggie may give American gadget junkies a reason to make the switch over to T-Mobile in just a couple months.

The HTC Touch Pro2, introduced to us last month at MWC, was shown off by a user at XDA Developers with a T-Mobile Branded ROM. Not sure how this person got their hands on it, but it appears genuine. This phone stacked with all the goodies is rumored for release in May.

We already knew the Pro2 was set for release in America but naturally assumed it would be found on AT&T’s network first, given that it featured some 3G frequencies normally reserved for AT&T. If released on T-Mobile first, it doesn’t necessarily mean AT&T is out of luck, but probably won’t get it for a while.

According to the source, here are some of the features we can expect from the Touch Pro2:

Word also has it that Windows Mobile 6.5 will be on the Touch Pro2.

More details to come as we get them!

  • It’s annoying to buy a phone and discover that only a wall charger and user manual come included in the box. We love to see phones come with extra goodies.

That’s why we’re glad to see Alltel offer a 2GB MicroSD card with the entire Mission: Impossible trilogy pre-installed with every Samsung Delve purchase.

“When you combine this incredible content with the Delve’s full set of powerful features, it’s easy to stay entertained and connected no matter where you are,” said Bill Ogle, Senior Marketing Officer for Samsung Mobile.

Here’s how it works: anytime you purchase a Samsung Delve, send in a mail-in redemption form and you will receive the MicroSD card within 4-6 weeks. We wish it actually came included in the box, but we understand that Samsung and Paramount only struck this deal recently and there may not have been any time to get the cards thrown in each box.

Either way, at least the Delve comes with some perks. Perhaps, if successful, this will become a regular addition to other featured phones.

  • It seems that Samsung is getting seriously ready for a Valentine’s day in Russia. We already told you about a beautiful Samsung F480 La Fleur Touch edition. But it’s not the only one.

Samsung has dressed up it’s dual SIM version of F480 – D980 – in La Fleur colors too. And aptly named it Samsung D980 La Fleur Touch.

Both Samsung F480 and D980 La Fleur Touch editions  come equipped something called “Mobile Coupon”, which claims to be  a mobile version of plastic discount cards you can get at various retailers.

Samsung has partnered with a number of shops, cafes, cinemas, beauty parlors, fitness clubs and other places you’d want to get discount from. All you have to do – is send an SMS to Samsung requesting a mobile coupon. You’ll get a link to download a small Java app through which you’ll be able to view all the discount offers and download the mobile coupons you want. Then  you just flash this coupon on a phone screen when buying something and you get a discount.

Sounds interesting. But there’s some bad news. Mobile Coupons are only available on a limited number of La Fleur Collection phones, which includes Samsung F480, D980 Touch and older L310, L320 and F250. And, what’s worse – all of these goodies are only available in Russia for now.

Well, let’s see if it works over there. Then,  maybe, Samsung can bring mobile coupons to the rest of the world too.

    Hacked New Firmware For Android

Not too fond of the official firmware for your G1? Well, you could always try the custom firmware, JF, which has been recently updated to reflect the new features of the G1 RC-33 update. This custom firmware has features such as multi-touch, auto-rotate and some other goodies. One thing to note is that this custom firmware doesn’t include the radio update, which was deliberately left as a separate update. As usual, remember that flashing your phone to a custom firmware is a dangerous thing, so don’t blame us (or anybody else) if you accidentally brick your phone in the process.
