Word has it that the newly announced Nokia 5330 XpressMusic slider phone is set for release soon with a blue neon look and carrying a T-Mobile USA logo. T-Mobile diehards will soon have their cravings for the 1700 MHz 3G band satisfied through this upcoming newbie. Certainly something to look forward to this summer, which is when the launch is expected.

  • Nokia 5330 XpressMusic, the new slider officially announced last week, will apparently be released by T-Mobile – probably in both the US and Europe.

The phone was recently spotted in a black/blue color version (unseen until now), with T-Mobile’s logo on it.

According to Cell Phone Signal, this version should be introduced in the US in June or July.

T-Mo USA already has two XpressMusic handsets (5310 and 5610), and the new 5330 should be a perfect replacement for them.

Nokia said the 5330 would have a retail price of 160 Euros ($210), so let’s hope that, with a contract agreement, the slider will be offered by T-Mobile for under $100.

The features of 5330 (plus a hands-on video) can be seen here.

    Nokia 5330 XpressMusic Announced

If you’re looking for a new music-centric mobile phone to bring your MP3 collection around with you, you’ll certainly want to check out the Nokia 5330 XpressMusic. The touch sensitive music keys on the side of the display provide easy access to your music collection, and the 3.5mm headphone jack offered by the phone gives you the flexibility of selecting your headphone of choice. The 5330 XpressMusic also has a 3.2 megapixel camera, though there is no mention as to whether the phone is using the popular Carl Zeiss optics or not. Expect to see this new music phone retail for about 160 Euros in the 3rd quarter of 2009.

  • Seems that Nokia isn’t too good at keeping it’s music related phone announcements secret.

Their last big music announcement has been leaked by Chinese, this time the Dutch have done it.

Not that we haven’t seen Nokia 5730 XpressMusic reviewed more then a month ago.

Yep, Nokia 5730 and 5330 XpressMusic are getting announced later today, along with cheap’o Nokia 5030 XpressRadio.

So let’s start from the beginning.

    Nokia 5730 XpressMusic

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is a media phone version of Nokia E75 full QWERTY slider.

It comes equipped with 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and GPS, and, of course, sliding QWERTY keyboard in addition to a normal T9 keypad.

Nokia 5730 comes with  “Say and Play” feature first introduced in Nokia 5320 and has a brand new “Xpress Homescreen” to directly access all your media files and services.

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is also tightly integrated with OVI contacts and allows you to share and see what music your friends are listening to.

Nokia 5730 will hit the shops this summer at a price of EUR280.

    Nokia 5330 XpressMusic

Nokia 5330 XpressMusic is a mid range slider with standard features, that tries (and probably succeeds) to impress us with it’s exterior.

By that I mean the display with visual effects that follows your music as it plays. Nothing else really special about this phone. Nokia 5330 XpressMusic will be available in Q3 for EUR160 before subsidies and taxes.

Nokia 5330 will also come with tight OVI and MySpace integration.

    Nokia 5030 XpressRadio

Nokia 5030 XpressRadio is a really cheap candybar that starts a new brandline for Nokia and is direct shot at Sony Ericksson R300 radio phone.

It is really cheap, should retail at EUR40 before subsidies and taxes and will go on sale this summer.

Nokia 5030 XpressMusic should also come with a really loud speaker, so you won’t need headphones to listen to your music or radio.

Nokia will also announce new countries where Nokia Music store is available and the extensions to “Comes with Music” service.

  • Stylish Nokia 5330 XpressMusic slider

Nokia 5330 XpressMusic is another handset launched at Nokia Music event today.

As we told you few hours ago, Nokia 5330 XpressMusic is interesting mostly not for it’s features, but for it’s exterior/design.

Though the feature set is also nothing to sneer about for a handset at this price range.

It has an interesting top sliced design and illumination effects around the keypad to fit your mood and music you are playing.

    nokia-5330-1

    Nokia 5330 specs include:

    • Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/1700/2100 connectivity
    • Symbian S40 9.1 OS
    • 2.4” QVGA 16M color display
    • 3.2 megapixel camera LED flash, 15 fps video recording
    • A-GPS
    • microSD memory card slot
    • Dimensions: 101.2 x 48.5 x 14.05 mm
    • Weight: 113 g
    • 1000 mAh battery with up to 7 hrs talk, 398 hrs standby and 24hrs music playback time

Nokia 5330 comes with OVI integration and also the possibility to add icon shortcuts to your favorite social networking services (e.g. Facebook, MySpace, etc;) to the home screen.

The handset is expected to ship in Q3 for a unsubsidized price of EUR 160.

I won’t complain about the camera here. 3.2 megapixels for the device at this price range is quite good. Throw in GPS sensor and pedestrian navigation capabilities, easy access to OVI services, music optimized design, and it looks that Nokia’s got a winner in 5330.

The only thing I feel is missing is high speed HSDPA data connectivity, since the phone only supports WCDMA (up to 384 kbps) downloads.

    Here’s a hands-on video of Nokia 5330:

    And some official press pics:
