If you’ve been eyeing Nokia’s E63 and were looking for a reason to purchase it, Dell seems to be currently offering quite a good deal on the device. Sure it lacks GPS and 3G, not to mention it has a plasticky body, but for $198.39 and free shipping, you might want to sit up and take a second look at the phone.

We are loving what the rumor mill has been cranking out lately. The latest biggie may give American gadget junkies a reason to make the switch over to T-Mobile in just a couple months.
The HTC Touch Pro2, introduced to us last month at MWC, was shown off by a user at XDA Developers with a T-Mobile Branded ROM. Not sure how this person got their hands on it, but it appears genuine. This phone stacked with all the goodies is rumored for release in May.
We already knew the Pro2 was set for release in America but naturally assumed it would be found on AT&T’s network first, given that it featured some 3G frequencies normally reserved for AT&T. If released on T-Mobile first, it doesn’t necessarily mean AT&T is out of luck, but probably won’t get it for a while.

According to the source, here are some of the features we can expect from the Touch Pro2:
Word also has it that Windows Mobile 6.5 will be on the Touch Pro2.
More details to come as we get them!

Nearly two years ago Nokia set up a website called Mosh with the idea that users would be in charge and could post whatever content they wanted for others to view or download. Now Nokia has other plans, and those plans do not include Mosh.
Rather, Nokia plans to open its new Ovi store in May, merging its software “Download” store with Mosh and widget service WidSets. This is really the official reason why Mosh is being shut down; Nokia wants to merge several small services into one, begin charging for use and regulate any content that comes in.
But was there something else going on behind the scenes? It was a great idea, and a huge success — 137 million downloads is certainly a success in my books — but a couple things helped lead to its demise: Mosh attracted a large amount of pornography, and Nokia clashed with record labels on the service. In the end, it looked as though it was more trouble for Nokia than it was worth, and the company decided to go a different direction.
As Mosh has reached 137 million downloads, that’s not too shabby for a service that did not use any marketing whatsoever.

Nokia hasn’t set a date for shutting Mosh down as of yet.

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 is perfectly capable of recording VGA quality video at 30fps, but unfortunately for us, the US version of it, the X1a is crippled and can only do 10fps VGA video. The reason behind this is supposedly a Qualcomm patent issue, which we’re fairly sure end users couldn’t care less about. The important thing is to get your device functioning to its full capabilities, right? Well, fortunately for us, users have found out that you can flash the X1a with a European ROM and restore the video recording capabilities of the device. Of course, it’s risky business; as you run the risk of turning your phone into an $800 paperweight, so always remember to proceed with caution if you decide to try this.

Unveiled back in November 2008, Asus P565 is a Windows Mobile smartphone that features a VGA touchscreen display, HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi, a 3.2MP camera and an 800 MHz CPU – thus being a pretty cool device.
However, it looks like Asus’ partnership with Garmin, announced at the beginning of February, has determined the Taiwanese company to give up on commercializing the P565.
GPSandCo reports that the smartphone should’ve debuted in France last month, but it will actually never be released, because of the above-mentioned reason.

We’re not sure how exactly the alliance with Garmin can influence the availability of Asus’ older handsets, but the latter company probably wants to concentrate more on handsets developed together with Garmin (like the nüvifone M20 and nüvifone G60).
It’s said that the Asus P565 is actually on sale in some markets (like Germany), but it’s not clear yet whether Asus will stop selling it for good.

After Kogan Agora’s official announcement, many Australian mobile users were happy, thinking that they would have the chance to buy the world’s second Android smartphone at a reasonable price.
Unfortunately, the Agora will not be available too soon, although Kogan initially said the handset would ship starting January 29 2009.
The Australian company now says that the Android smartphone “has to be delayed indefinitely”. The main reason for this is Agora’s screen resolution: 240 x 320 pixels, which, apparently, isn’t compatible with some Android applications.
In consequence, Kogan will try to re-make the smartphone, but there’s no word on when they intend to finish and finally release it.
Well, at least we know that the handset will have a bigger screen.
Those who pre-ordered the smartphone, thus paying without getting it, will receive their money back, Kogan said.

The first ever Obama-branded mobile phone is called Mi-Obama and it was recently launched, not in the US, how people would’ve expected, but in Kenya – the country where Obama’s father was born.
Mi-Obama is produced and sold by Mi-Fone, a company that you’ve probably never heard of. That’s because it’s only present in some Asian and African markets.
The phone is a candybar that has “Omaba” written on the back case, as well as the US Presitdent’s famous “Yes we can”. Apparently, the reason behind its launch is the fact that the new President of the USA will visit Kenya sometime in the future.
As for the specs of Mi-Obama, these are the ones of an entry-level device, including a 128 x 128 pixels display, FM radio and a Led torchlight.
If you’re in Kenya, you can find the Mi-Obama via the following retail stores: Xpress@ Nakumatt, Phonelink and Tuskys. Its price is of only $30.
If you’re not on Kenya, you’ll probably never find the phone

Turn your head this way and find out, won’t you? I found some jewels at the Microsoft booth this year, as well as some oldies. Right next to the Blackjack II was sitting the HTC S740.
The reason this is a head-turner is because the S743, which is essentially the S740 with US 3G frequencies thrown in, has been announced for the states. The S743 is a rather skinny phone, as if it were the skinny version of the Touch Pro.
Naturally, as I had never seen this phone in real life, I found time to become acquainted. I love the keyboard on it, but the screen just wasn’t large enough for my taste.
I have offered up these pictures for your viewing enjoyment. What do you think about the S740/S743?

Nokia has discontinued sales and support of its Nokia N810 WiMAX edition with immediate effect. While Nokia’s PR department said that this is the normal procedure for old Nokia devices, many people speculate that the reason it was discontinued was because of a branding issue, especially since the device is branded under the now defunct XOHM, which was passed to Clearwire and rebranded as Clear. Unsold N810 WiMAX models are to be sent back to Nokia, and it is speculated that they will be repackaged and recertified to work on the new Clear service.
