The popular Samsung Omnia has been launched on Telus, and it’s going for a lowly $149 (Canadian) when bundled with a 3-year contract, even then, the $499 (Canadian) price for the unlocked version isn’t too high either. Would you get one at these prices?

We reported on the Samsung Omnia being available via Telus recently, so it’s really no big surprise to see that this 5-megapixel touchscreen phone has been happily unboxed by some folks on the Internet. Intrigued to see what you’ll be getting in the package? Well, sit back and enjoy the video then.

Saw the recent listing of the Samsung Omnia on Samsung Canada’s website? Well, the good news is that pictures of the Samsung Omnia with both Bell and Telus branding have appeared. Based on the pictures, it seems that the Bell version will have some NHL content included. In case you were wondering what all the fuss about the Samsung Omnia is about, here are some of the specifications, just to jog your memory a bit:
5-megapixel camera with auto focus and flash
3.2-inch touch screen

Samsung Omnia may not be as advanced as the not-yet-available Omnia HD i8910, but it’s still a pretty hot piece of mobile technology. And I’m talking about it because that mysterious touchscreen device which will be released soon in Canada turned out to be – of course – the Samsung Omnia (not LG Arena, as I supposed).
The teaser video with the phone has just been released in its uncensored version, and, even more, the Omnia is now featured on Samsung Canada’s website.
As you may already know, the highlights of the CDMA Omnia include:

Rumors say the Canadian Samsung Omnia should be available via both Bell and Telus, but it’s not clear yet when exactly this will happen.
Here’s the promo video with the device:

Everybody is becoming more environmentally conscious nowadays, and Telus has just renewed a pledge to plant a tree for every phone returned, so if you’ve got some of those phones that you want to return to Telus, now would probably be a good time. It’s certainly a good way to cut down waste, and rebuild our environment at the same time. Hopefully technology will become greener in the future, and more advanced in the process too.

The VE465 is one of Moto’s new semi-rugged entry-level clamshells that we first saw a few months ago in some leaked images.
Meanwhile, the phone appeared on Motorola’s official website, but with no details about where it will be launched.
Now we’ve spotted the VE465 on Alltel’s website, hence the Verizon-owned carrier will probably start selling it pretty soon – although pricing details are not known for the moment.
Also, Mobile Syrup quotes an inside source from Motorola Canada, saying that the handset will soon land on Telus, the second largest Canadian CDMA carrier. Apparently, Telus will name the phone “Motorola VE465 Active Edition”.

The official specs of VE465 include:
Motorola VE465 may not be as cool as the QA4 Evoke, but it should be a good choice for users who only need a simple and affordable flip phone.

Looking for the BlackBerry Kickstart on Telus? Well, you’ll be fairly happy to hear that the device will be available on the carrier for just $50. Of course, such a price point means that you’ll have to agree to a 3-year contract, but that’s a fair bit of savings, considering that the phone is going for $449.99 contract-free.

Been waiting to get hold of the BlackBerry Storm, but didn’t want to fork out too much money for it? Well, good news is here as Telus has just dropped the price of the BlackBerry Storm, placing it at $199.99 if you accept a 3-year contract (with a voice, e-mail and data plan of $40 or more). Will it be sufficient to change your mind about buying a new phone in this time of global economic woe?

Looking out for a CDMA BlackBerry Pearl Flip? Well, a device that would fit the bill has just paid the FCC a visit, and it supports CDMA and EV-DO on the 850 and 1900MHz bands. Still think that the CDMA Blackberry Pearl Flip is a myth? Yeah, we didn’t think so. Hopefully it won’t take too long for the device to be approved as we’ve been expecting the device to be available via Verizon and Telus in the near future.

Telus subscribers should be happy to hear that the operator should be launching the BlackBerry Pearl Flip by the end of February, which isn’t too far away. A picture of an internal document showing the device as “Coming soon” with a 3-year contract offer is available. Hopefully the device will be available at a competitive price point.
