We are loving what the rumor mill has been cranking out lately. The latest biggie may give American gadget junkies a reason to make the switch over to T-Mobile in just a couple months.
The HTC Touch Pro2, introduced to us last month at MWC, was shown off by a user at XDA Developers with a T-Mobile Branded ROM. Not sure how this person got their hands on it, but it appears genuine. This phone stacked with all the goodies is rumored for release in May.
We already knew the Pro2 was set for release in America but naturally assumed it would be found on AT&T’s network first, given that it featured some 3G frequencies normally reserved for AT&T. If released on T-Mobile first, it doesn’t necessarily mean AT&T is out of luck, but probably won’t get it for a while.

According to the source, here are some of the features we can expect from the Touch Pro2:
Word also has it that Windows Mobile 6.5 will be on the Touch Pro2.
More details to come as we get them!

The TouchFLO3D 2 user interface (UI) is certainly pretty and interesting. Fortunately for Xperia X1 owners, the folks over at XDA-Developers have managed to get a ROM for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 that has this UI. The good news is that it’s mostly bug-free and doesn’t come with Opera Mobile, allowing users to download whichever version of Opera Mobile that they wish. As usual, remember that flashing your mobile phone is risky business, and you wouldn’t enjoy holding a bricked Xperia X1 very much, so exercise caution at all times if you decide to try this.

Can’t wait to get your hands on Windows Mobile 6.5? Well, it seems the folks over at XDA-Developers have managed to get a simple ROM of Windows Mobile 6.5 for the HTC Raphael/Fuze. It’s still a work in progress, and there are still plenty of bugs, like the volume control not working properly, or the phone not unlocking and a couple of others. Of course, if you’re the impatient type and can’t wait, then you’ll certainly give it a try, though keep in mind that if you brick your phone, nobody is going to give you a new phone.

The new software update for the HTC Touch HD that was released on Wednesday was supposed to make an improvement on the on-screen slider feature for answering calls, but the Hot Fix has actually caused another problem. After the installation of the software update, the phone dialer has a strange layer “Call Hi…” (which could possible stand for “Call History”) on top of the video call button and video calls could not be made without access to the button.
In order to fix the problem, you can’t simply uninstall the hot fix as it will not revert back to your old system files. Xda-developers have created a simple solution which allows you to undo the hot fix and get back the old system files. While it will sort out this new problem, you’ll have to face the initial problem that the hotfix was supposed to address again.

Not everybody wants the latest updates for their phones, and users of T-Mobile’s G1 generally prefer the RC29 firmware, mainly for its root access. Thanks to the folks over at xda-developers, G1 users who have accidentally updated to the RC30 firmware will be able download the RC29 firmware which has been uploaded and re-flash the phone back to your beloved RC29 firmware.

Google’s Android has been ported to many devices, and next up is HTC’s Touch Diamond. A user over at xda-developers.com has managed to port it over, though it’s far from complete at the moment, with many kinks that need to be worked out. Since the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro share similar specifications, aside from the slide-out keyboard, maybe users will port Android over to the Touch Pro too.
